Hot chocolate, burgers and fruit juice. Hampstead Heath cafe on the heath towards the end of a lovely productive and connective day. I was on styling, Christian capturing the light. It was a classic example of our journey as brothers.
There's always been this thing between us in the way we build relationships with the model. It’s always felt natural to build a sense that these moments being captured are special to us all for more than that day and a time capsule we might all reminisce as one. It seems i’m a sucka for utopias.
My beautiful cousin Joshua and the enigmatic Temesgen, two perfect examples of their eternal ancestral lineage, blessed up da dance. The station we met reminded of the last and only other time I recall it, with a momentary collection of pieces from the Badpanda collection loaned to Will I Am from an up north friend who now styles the highlife down south. Today was to be a day of unification and honour. I could feel it and I was very happy inside.
This mix was a blessful array of beings, mighty and pure.
It's like, you see elements of these moments, captured on film then processed to reveal the chemical equations of time and light; these are but a fraction of the moment, lacking the careful leap over the fence into the reads or the adventurous leap above the veranda to observe the flowers and architecture from a new vantage never witnessed before. That, I am sure of. Only on the way down was the moment replicated for the swinging moments of scarlette Mi Nah Deal Wi Dem Ting Deh.
On reflection this was more of a dance than a collection of statues. The Heath provided explorative opportunities, gloresom operandi and the rare balance of seasonal summer heat leaving us its tail whilst its torso sat in autumn aka apple picking up near Castle Hill or around the outskirts of town.

Born of three elements, three beings coming together to be who are to ourselves with one another. Tangerines and 90’s VHS camcorders recording an iPad 2 as if it were an LCD monitor. The vibe at the time was tainted with that London air of Notting Hill carnival and summer was plenty.
Our framework and aim was to bring Black Obsidian to light with an all as one approach to style photography and art. The setting was a curated bedroom permanently in evolving process that always felt as it should. Based on what I connect to as a “Spider Webs Light Hotel”; a parallel lined asymmetrical example of the 1950’s. The social housing blocks did what they could often do by transforming whatever it had into whatever it needed to be. A place with less passports than its occupants. A metaphysical landscape of materials, texture and choreographed light worked through our layers into the lens of Christians classically unique sounding P7. Supermalt, laughter and a moment in a timeless summer.

One day they just walked into the shop and three years laters I’d just finished making their tour merch which also consisted of two custom para smocks embellished with dope custom details depicting elements of their newly finished Foam Island LP; a project I was able to have a hand in, mainly in connecting James and Aiden with members of the creative community in Huddersfield. As a thank you, the last words of the LP are yours truly. Thank you Darkstar.
Elements. Eating beautiful food with the band and their photographer James Medcraft at my parents house. Riding round Huddersfield which they learned very quickly, whilst listening to unreleased tracks.
